The Bishop of Trichy-Tanjore Diocese with his perseverance has been instrumental to establish the Bishop’s College of Nursing in Dharapuram vide the G.O.Ms No.1396, dt. 30-10-1991.
The Bishop’s College of Nursing is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, approved by the Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai and Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.
The B.Sc., Nursing Degree Programme is four years programme. The M. Sc., Nursing Degree Programme is two years programme. Students have to appear for examinations conducted by the Tamilnadu Dr. MGR. Medical University, Chennai every year. They are expected to have clinical experience during the whole period of study both in hospitals and in community, urban and rural field practice areas as per university and council requirements.
